Christmas nightmare (again)..

January 1st, 2010 | Categories: Life

Personally I do not have good experience in this time of the year : Christmas. That’s because of what happened around the one in 2007.

At that time, I was in Germany, living in a house with my friend. Like some normal students do in Western culture, he went back to his home town during the Christmas time. I was going to another place in Germany and to France to visit my friends. For some reason, I got really sick and decided to return back to my apartment. To make the story short, I had to stay in bed for 2 weeks, which practically means the whole winter break. Being all on my own (because I was all alone), I seriously thought I could die. Eventually, I was lucky enough to still be alive, but that wasn’t the kind of experience I’d like to go through many times in my life.

So what happened in the one in 2009? It wasn’t as bad as in 2007, indeed. The direction was more or less the same; I got sick shortly before the Christmas, and had to stay in bed for relatively long time (at least longer than I hoped). I had to have a sick leave, went to see a doctor, got medicine, etc.. (Thanks to eCard, I didn’t have to pay anything at doctor :-).

Anyhow, after staying (or rather lying down) at my flat for 5 days, I now feel well (at least well enough to be able to go to office and work for half a day). I’m still not in the perfect condition, but things should be settled down fairly soon.

It’s probably one of the moments where you’d be very much happy that you could speak and understand German (or a local language which is not English). I was desperate, and not everyone speaks in English here..
